So I think you can tell from the lack of other blog posts that this is my first post on cheflexyrogers.com. I'm thrilled to be here, nervous at the thought of others judging and reading my heart, and eager to get started. I wanted to start off with an ice breaker. (I envision this being a long lasting relationship, I can't just start putting out recipes and telling you how to shop! We need to get to know each other first :) ) With that being said, I am Lexy Rogers, author of this here blog, and I want to make your life easier in any way I possibly can. As a mother of three (soon to be four shhh) and military wife, I know all too well the struggles of stocking up on affordable food. It feels like prices keep rising while the quantities are continually decreasing. Not a great mix. There are a few things I do to combat this, (my budget friendly cook book will come in handy too) between building weekly menus to match my monthly budget, substituting ingredients for their cheaper cousins, and utilizing leftovers there really is so much to do to fight this epidemic. And that, is what this blog is about. I will be uploading recipes using leftovers, starting discussions on the best way to start menu building while showing my weekly menus for inspiration, and creating meals to feed families of 1 to many. You can expect a blog post from me every couple of days, (cause mom life). Have a topic you want me to cover, questions you want answered, or recipes you want perfected feel free to email me. Remember we're besties now, I'm here for you!
